Remember That Thing I Said?

My last post was about the British television import Primeval. I am not one to spoil the plot but I must say an extremely cranky...........

REALLY??????????

Primeval you know I love you, but seriously why do you do this to me??

I am now watching the third season, or series as you might call it which may explain my odd and sort of cryptic rant.

I refuse to spoil it for anyone watching on BBC America, so I shall write no more.

Being Caught Unaware

This is what tv.com has to say about one of my most guilty pleasure shows:

Primeval, a high-budget series, follows Professor Nick Cutter and his team as they investigate anomalies in time found in the Forest of Dean. An unfortunate side-effect of the anomalies is that dinosaurs are moving through them and into the present time, making the team's investigations that much more stressful. Cutter's wife also disappears while investigating the anomalies and he makes it his mission to find and save her.

This is a very apt description of what occurs weekly in the world of Nick Cutter, but there is so much more.

I hope you check it out. You might like it. Season 3 has just begun, I am so excited!

What I will be seeing and why............

Movie: X-Men Origins: Wolverine

Reason(s):

- Hugh Jackman is a great Wolverine
- Liev Schreiber is great no matter what, and I can't wait to see him as Sabertooth.
- The introduction of my FAVORITE X-man, Gambit

Movie: Star Trek

Reason(s):

- The origin of Captain James T. Kirk? AWESOME!!!
- I love all things Star Trek, yes I will admit that.

Movie: The Hangover

Reason(s):

-Zach Galifianakis wearing a baby!
-Honestly that is the only reason, I do love Zach.

Is there something coming up that has caught your attention?

I am getting a little fan girl, I may have to take a nap!

She Was Right.........She Usually Is........

If you haven't seen Dear Frankie do yourself a favor and find a copy.

The lovely Emily Mortimer is almost perfect in this tale of a mother's love. In turn this flim is sad, sweet and completely lovely.

And as an added bonus, this guy is featured in it:

The beautiful and talented Gerard Butler.

Miss M already suggested you watch it, and I must agree.

Just Another Way I Find The World Hurtful and Unjust!!

The problem I am having at this very moment is this.........I am not Estella Warren, to be more precise, I am not Estella Warren's character in Her Minor Thing.

The story is this:
Girl in tight shirt and short skirt dates minor celebrity. Minor celebrity accidentally reveals to the entire town that girl is a virgin at age 25. Girl and minor celebrity break up. The entire town goes crazy, women and men fighting about things that girl could care less about even though she is the poster child for the cause. Every man in the city tries to get girl in bed. Girl meets new in town sensitive artist, who happens to be minor celebrity's camera man. Girl resists artist. Girl and artist become friends. Girl and artist fight. Minor celebrity tries to win girl back. Sensitive artist does wins girl back and helps her deal with her virginity issue.

Estella Warren's performance is not good. She doesn't seem to have a wide range of emotions that she can put on display, she tries, but fails then she just makes pouty lips. The story is extremely forced and quite unbelievable, and I am a sucker for a love story.

The saving grace of this film for me is Michael Weatherly (who is currently starring in my other blog) and Christian Kane, who also features regularly on my other blog. Weatherly's portrayal of the smarmy TV personality boyfriend(minor celebrity) was humorous, and Kane (sensitive artist) is beautiful (and he has a very sexy voice).

So you may have figured it out, I want to be Warren's character because she gets personal with these two pretty boys. Lucky girl!!!!!!

In short, this movie pretty much sucked with very minor flashes of funny. Weatherly was fun, Kane was pretty. If you have some time, very low expectations and the desire to see pretty things, then watch this movie.

30 Days Til the Vampire Apocalypse

So I watched 30 Days of Night the other night ... alone, in my room, at night, with all the lights off. This was a bad idea, really. So then I exit my room and my roommate says 'did you see that electric pole that's shaped like a stake down the street? It's got a sign on it that says Use In Case of Vampire Attack!'

Great, that's just great. Now I'm never gonna sleep again.

It's a beautiful ride

So here's the deal, I love John C. Reiley. I mean really a lot. I think he is just a great and underrated actor.

I am at this very moment watching the credits of Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. It was genuinely...okay. A couple scenes cracked me up, but mostly it was just kind of there. It's like if you're listening to Tenacious D on your iPod while your mom is talking to you. You're only half way paying attention but still laugh at the funny parts you catch.

I say sure, see it. See it cause my boy John is completely awesomely wonderful. See it cause of Jack White's Elvis interpretation. See it cause Paul McCartney is pissed at Jack Black. Don't see it if you want to laugh your ass off though.

Oh, and I actually really liked the music!
